Motivational Quotes

Let us live our dreams

"We grow great by dreams. All big men are dreamers. They see things in the soft haze of a spring day or in the red fire of a long winter's evening. Some of us let these great dreams die, but others nourish and protect them; nurse them through bad days till they bring them to the sunshine and light which comes always to those who sincerely hope that their dreams will come true. Woodrow Wilson

Can You Be More Effective?

Do you think you can be more effective? You do?

Let’s face it, the internet is full of information designed to make our lives more livable or to help us to make more money. But the problem today is we don’t have the time or ability to print out and read all those great books like “Make Money Fast With Your 8 Track Stereo” or “Cutting Your Toenails For Fun And Profit”. Nope, I haven’t read those either and it is doubtful I will even if I can listen to them.

I find I am much more productive driving to and from work (yes, I still have my day JOB) if I can listen to motivational information in my car. I download some motivational mp3 to my mp3 player and hook it up to the radio in my car and away I go.

The problem is that I’m not learning much listening to mood music or motivational taped stuff. I would like to be able to listen to Yanik Silva or Tellman Knudsen tell how to increase my income by 50% in three weeks or something like that. Unfortunately the only type of “motivation” that has been available up until now is audio books recorded by someone who wrote the ebook. This isn’t what I want - I NEED to know how the gurus are making the big bucks, not some ebook put together by someone as filler for their mailing list.

Not that I have gobs of time on my hands but I am now investing the time to read aloud and record every guru’s book I have in my possession so I can listen to them in my car. I’ll build my audio library like one never heard while learning a lot of valuable information.

Not only will I be able to retain more of what I read - I’ve read that reading out loud helps retain more, I’ll also be able to pop one of those recordings in the mp3 player and take it with me wherever I go. I’ve only begun this project yet, with the goal of recording at least one ebook per week, I’m forcing myself to learn new material every week.

Be positive

We must always stay positive because when you are positive, it will keep your mind with an open channel.

  1. Step 1

Fill your mind with positive things. Read encouraging, affirming books and listen to upbeat, happy music. Think about happy memories or things you have to look forward to rather than bad things that have happened or things you dread.

  2. Step 2

Develop yourself spiritually. Research shows that those who are spiritual live longer and more satisfying lives.

  3. Step 3

Keep positive people in your life. Avoid people who have a negative mindset and surround yourself with people who are upbeat, spiritual and fun.

  4. Step 4

Practice positive thinking. Try not to let negative thoughts enter your atmosphere. Think instead of all the good things in your life, even if there aren't very many. Concentrate on your good features instead of your faults.

  5. Step 5

Laugh often. Watch a funny movie or hang out with someone who you can be silly with. Laughter is a great way to get a positive attitude.

  6. Step 6

Learn something new or take up a new hobby. Get out and do things you love to do and enjoy yourself.

  7. Step 7

Reevaluate your situation. It's easy to think negative or pessimistic thoughts when something happens. However, when you think rationally about the facts instead of the fears, you can see a more positive side of things.

5 Keys to Keep Your Mind Positive No Matter What Is Happening At The Moment

I hope this 5 keys will be able to help you keep your mind positive

How is it possible to keep yourself in a positive state with all that's going on in the world right now? If you watch the news, do you ever get pulled into the undertow? Or are you one of those who can smile no matter what and make rainbows and iridescent bubbles appear everywhere you go? It may be possible that you're somewhere in the middle.
Here are the Five Keys
You may begin to contemplate the worst, but then you have the kind of mind that doesn't stay there. You can move your mind to a higher plane after paying attention to the doom thoughts first. You can transcend the quicksand's pull and move to higher ground. One way to do this is to observe your thoughts and feelings from the state of the witness and then ask this healing question: "What would my Wise Mind tell me about this?" Almost inevitably, you will be led to an oasis of transformational thinking that will help you to view the siltation from a higher perspective.
Something else you can do is to use a new kind of affirmation. This idea is from Noah St. John in his recent book, The Secret Code of Success. Instead of sticking with your negative thought, shift it around a bit. Say, "Why am I so...?(pick a positive state - like rich, happy, loved, loving) - or whatever positive state you're drawn to. Write it down twice a day. Write down a whole list and keep shifting your thoughts.
You can also view events that take place as opportunities for learning and enlightenment. Seeing the advantage of everything is a way to have a happy life, no matter what is taking place. Years ago, when I didn't have a place to live for a while, a poet came up to me and said, "Since my house burned down, now I have a better view of the rising moon." There are spiritual gifts in everything, and the moment you see everything from the point of view of the mountaintop, you can look to the essential truths of transformation inherent in all things and events.
Some sages and prophets see in our times, that we are entering the Golden Age of life on earth and that the challenging events of our time are but the cleansing of all life on this planet. Because the light is growing stronger, it reveals the gremlins and dark spaces that are in the process of moving away.
Eckhart Tolle says that he's fine no matter what happens. The secret to his equanimity and happiness is this "I accept things as they are."

Strong Will to Survive

Life is a wonderful thing and we should all learn to cherish it. Having a strong will to survive in this world, will lead you to greater life.

Commen Sense

Common Sense is the first step to finding your Will to survive. Common Sense tell you to stop worrying about what others think. Follow what your heart tells you to and don't beat yourself up if it isn't in a "normal" time factor. In this particular case my article is based on the loss of someone I loved & Lost. Read on!

Determination

Determination. Everyone thinks they can determine your route to your survival. "You shouldn't wallow in the pain of it, self pity or you should move on and realize you have other things to live for". They mean well, but they aren't in your skin. Great advise if your sitting on the giving end of that. But the reality is, there are no book of rules or time factors to determine when you are ready to dust it off and get busy! If it isn't in the timely fashion of all of your well wishers ... don't sweat it! They aren't you! Find what motivates you and try to stick to it to pull you up and out. You can do it...Determination goes a long way!

Reason

Reason. It is not always obvious so this may take a moment for you to find. Or it can be the most obvious reason you could have & hit you in the face like a baseball! In the above picture you will meet my son, Jordan and his father Henry. That was my reason...my son. He lost his father to a fatal head on collision a couple of weeks before they were to be together again. It hurt, devastated and knocked me for a loop! I had just lost my mother to Inflammatory Breast Cancer about 11 weeks before that and was dealing with loss and moving on when all of a sudden the rug was ripped out from under me again! So, my reason to go on was all of the people I would leave behind if I didn't find, my "will to survive". Mine was my children and most importantly, my son. He was hurting enough and he needed strength from me. So, I willed myself to move..even when it hurt and I didn't want to. (Did I mention I may have had a shove or two from a couple of people...but never the less, it was effective!)

Heart

Heart. Not all of us have the heart to do it. We may feel like giving up or just giving in to the pain to the point of incapacitation. Your common sense and determination may be there. And you may even be telling yourself to "GET REAL"! But the truth is if your heart isn't in it, you won't be able to do it. It won't matter the amount of reasons you may have that are valid and necessary, you have to have the heart to survive! My heart was my son. If I leave him he is on his own and he needed me. (I can't count on his sisters to not kill him before he makes it to a man...did I mention he is 14 and need I say more?) Just like I am sure someone or something is depending on you. Everyone has accountability. You account to something in life, no one is free completely. We may not want to admit it. But it is there. And somewhere in the middle of all the chaos, your heart will point it out to you and you will pick yourself up and move on. In the most hopeless of hope, there is a ray of light. Look and you will find it. If not ... Dude! Find a Shrink Fast!!!! ;o)

How you can keep yourself motivated

Never lose hope. You can always maintain your motivations at all time.  I would like to share with you these few steps on how to keep yourself motivated. Do share it with everyone you know and the one you love.

Things You’ll Need:

  • Motivational Material
  • Motivation Scrap Book

Step1

I see motivation as a passion. It sometimes takes awhile to get yourself in the stride of things but once you do achieving any goal just seems so much easier. If you ask me, staying motivated is the hardest part of reaching any goal.

Step2

One of the best things to do to get motivation to start with is to find the physical and mental image of what you want to achieve. Whatever goal(s) that you might have there are at least a handful of books, movies, images, stories, and even music to help you find your own motivation.

Step3

Instead of spending tons of money on generic "life fixing" motivational tools, tailor make and build your own motivational tool kit.

Step4

Get into "Dream scrapbooking" as I like to call it. Build a very detailed scrap book of your goals and desires. Use pictures from magazines, quotes, and your own progress towards your goals to remind you of why you work so hard for them.

Step5

Watch movies that parallel your dreams, with characters achieving your goals. Save anything from images to articles that make you want to get out there and just do it, whatever IT is to you personally.

Step6

Place all of the things that motivate you, in a nice designer box and put it where you will see it and be reminded to look over it often. Sit down one night a week and spend a couple of hours reading and watching your own motivational material.

Step7

Once you have it, use it. Anytime you begin to wonder if it's too hard go back to your "Dream scrapbook" and motivational materials to give yourself a quick kick in the butt.

5 Steps You can Take To Excel During Tough Times

We all need to be strong & have faith in what we do

It was a beautiful day in Costa Rica, the sun was shining and I was on the back of a beautiful horse named Diablo. I had been horseback riding numerous times before with no problems, so I was not prepared for what would happen next.

As Diablo and I hit full stride galloping across an open pasture between two majestic mountain peaks, Diablo stepped into a hole and I suddenly found myself tumbling to the ground along with the horse. Wincing in pain, my shoulder separated and rib cracked I looked at Diablo. He was lying on the ground bleeding from the nose.

I got my leg out of the stirrup and Diablo rose to his feet. I breathed a sigh of relief because the horse would be okay. Then real panic struck, in pain I reached for my Blackberry, which was nowhere in sight. What was I going to do? All my contacts and connections to the outside world were suddenly lost.

It was time to get focused! I stepped back for a moment and looked at the rancher who was riding with us. I noticed that he had a cell phone attached to his belt. Every time I leave the country to travel or speak I purchase a phone card in case of an emergency. Well if there ever was an emergency this was it!

I pulled out the calling card from my wallet and borrowed the ranchers phone to call my Blackberry. Suddenly in a wide open field that had not been cut except by grazing cattle for over 100 years I heard the sweet sound of my Blackberry. Now on my hands and knees I looked through the brush and found my life again. With Blackberry in hand I got back on the horse and continued to ride for three hours, after all I did not want to ruin the ride for everyone.

When I got back to the states it hit me! Millions of people in the US and abroad had just fallen off their horse. Whether they had just lost their job due to the recession or went through a bad breakup in a relationship or even divorce there was a crisis out there and if those individuals wanted to be successful they needed to get back on the horse.

After 30 years of marriage Sarah a successful educator, interior designer and mother fell off her horse! Sarahs husband decided he did not want to be married anymore, she felt alone in the world with no job and little technical knowledge. In fact Sarah found herself in the middle of one of the toughest job markets in history starting her life from scratch.

I received a call from Sarah asking if I could be of help. I thought about Diablo and the steps I had taken to overcome that negative situation enabling me to get back on the horse and enjoy the ride.

If you have fallen off your horse or are looking to take a different direction in life you can excel in tough times if you follow these five steps.

Step One: Get Focused on What You Want!

Opportunities are all around you; in fact most of us are so busy putting out fires that we miss the opportunities that surround us daily. If you knew you could not fail at anything you attempted what would you do?

Step Two: Focus on Your Strengths and Get Training on Your Weaknesses

We should always use our best qualities to attain success; however with the flood of overqualified people in the marketplace you must improve your skills, especially computer skills and communication skills if you are to be successful in todays marketplace.

Step Three: Find a Mentor Find

Someone who's doing your job or living the life that you want to live and set up an appointment to meet with them. I found that most people on this planet enjoy helping others and if you dont  A.S.K. you wont G.E.T. the worst thing that could happen is they say no. If that happens you are in the same position as you were originally. If they say yes, you just might attain your goals that much faster!

Step Four: Be Prepared for Emergencies

Most of us have heard of Mr. Murphy, hes the guy with the law that says whatever can go wrong will go wrong. But we cant plan for everything, history usually repeats itself so be prepared. Enough said!

Step Five: Don't Quit Get Back on the Horse!

If you think about it whats your alternative? You were born to succeed on this planet, if you remain focused, you will persevere and attain all your goals. Sarahs story is no different than the thousands of Americans today, however if you follow these five steps I am confident that you will survive and thrive while enjoying your ride through life.

How to Set Standards for a Well Lived Life - 3 Motivational Quotes

Quotes

There is always hope in this world

"If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for pretty much anything."

There are other variations of this quote, but the fact of the matter is this quote is one that hit home with me when I was exposed to it as a teenager. This quote made me think about how important having standards is. Having standards are essential for determining the quality of the life you intend to live.

Over the years I've created quite a few quotes that help me and others to create the standards necessary for a well lived life. Here are 3 empowering motivational quotes that will help you define your life standards and create the life you truly desire:

Quote #1 - "Never practice positive thinking without the positive action of application."
Essentially this quote is saying that there are two parts to being positive and both of those parts must be active. If you're only doing the first part, thinking positive, without enacting the second part, applying positive action, than you're really just wasting your brain power. Set the standard of practicing positive thinking and applying positive action and you will succeed every single time.

Quote #2 - "Lessons are what's behind you. LIFE is what's in front of you. Learn, Grow & Thrive!"
To often we can get hung up on focusing on all of the negative things that have happened to us in the past. This can cause a person to become bitter. Bitterness weighs you down and prevents you from embracing the abundance that rules the Universe. This quote says to set the standard of looking at the past to discern and learn the lessons found there, then to go forward applying those lessons and live an abundant life.

Quote #3 - "Know, Like & Trust yourself 1st, then you will become an attractor magnet of those things and persons who will enhance your life.

In a nut shell, this quote says if you don't know yourself, like yourself and trust yourself than it's going to be next to impossible for you to attract anything that will enhance your life and help you to go to your next level. Set the standard for yourself that you will know, like and trust yourself before you seek to know, like and trust anyone else and you'll be amazed as you trigger the gateway for the abundance of the Universe to visit you often.

Remember, time is short.  Do your Happy dance. Enjoy life!
